Nicholas D. Hopkins


Nicholas Hopkins practices in the areas of criminal defense and habeas corpus law. He is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut and the State of Illinois.

Nicholas joined the firm in January 2020. Before joining the firm, he worked as a public defender in Champaign County, Illinois, where he defended community members accused of misdemeanors and felonies. During law school, he participated in the Illinois Innocence Project, where he assisted individuals asserting claims of innocence, and he also participated in the Family Advocacy Clinic, where he represented parents in the juvenile abuse and neglect system as a practicing law student.

Nicholas graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2019, where he received a Juris Doctor degree, and from the University of Illinois in 2015, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and sociology, with a minor in African studies.
