James P. Batson

James Batson practices in the areas of criminal defense and habeas corpus law. He is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York and the US District Courts for the Eastern District of New York, the Southern District of New York, and the Northern District of Illinois. His application for admission to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut is pending.

James joined the firm in February 2024. Prior to joining the firm, James practiced civil litigation as a solo practitioner, and later as a partner at a boutique civil litigation firm, where he focused on federal civil litigation in the areas of consumer, employment, and civil rights.

James received a Juris Doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Cornell University in 2009.
